Pinterest Shares Tips on How to Interact with ‘Inspired Shoppers’ and Improve Sales

Pinterest is an excellent platform to browse and save inspiration for DIY projects, recipes, decorations, fashion and much more.

Pinterest was defined as a “curation tool” when it was first released in March 2010, where users were able to “pin” the images and information that they wanted to save.

Today, it has evolved to be much more than that!

For online retailers, Pinterest can be a marketing engine. Users are more likely to purchase items that they come across on Pinterest than any other social networks.

That’s mainly because Pinterest users proactively look for things to buy instead of just scrolling through a stream.

With most of the retail outlets closed and shopping options restricted, people turn to Pinterest — a place to get interactive ideas and to explore new things to buy.

Moreover, in recent weeks, Pinterest has seen record traffic levels, with more people looking for relevant products to accommodate their home office, entertain their children and take care of themselves amid the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Pinterest can actually be a substitute for your local shopping mall in a way-but one with far more choices and products that are more precisely catered to your interests.

E-commerce has become more critical than ever as retailers adapt to profound changes in household spending.

This week, Pinterest has released a new report on Pinterest users’ behaviour, and how that contributes to purchasing action. In fact, Pinterest says 83% of weekly Pinners made a purchase from a brand based on a Pin and engaged Pinners shop more frequently and are eager to try new things.

With recent innovations such as its authentication system and simplified catalogue uploads, Pinterest may be a crucial opportunity for retailers actively trying to reduce their losses.

Perhaps all of the foot traffic and subsequent sales will not be replaced, but most of the customers are still searching for goods and based on those numbers, active Pinners are definitely ready to purchase.

Pinterest is hosting a webinar on April 7th at 11 am PDT to help retailers get the most out of their efforts on the platform, so if you’re trying to get a good understanding of where the platform could fit in with your marketing strategy, register for this webinar.
