LinkedIn Introduces Live Streaming for Company Pages

LinkedIn has started a live-streaming option for company pages. Earlier, the LinkedIn Live option was available only in the US to selected users; but now, it is open to any company page. Though page managers still need to apply for access.

The main focus of LinkedIn is content and conversation. The company wants to give its members an opportunity to share what they want and need, help others, and seek help.

Now, you can also benefit from this feature and encourage your employees to share live updates on LinkedIn Live.

“LinkedIn Live has helped members and organizations foster dialogues with their communities. That’s why brands have seen 7X more reactions and 24X more comments vs. standard video posts on LinkedIn. As part of our continued investment, we’re delighted to bring LinkedIn Live to Pages so that organizations can leverage sight, sound and motion to humanize their brand’s voice on LinkedIn.” — LinkedIn.

LinkedIn users prefer to share a video on the platform than any other type of post. Given the performance of video content on the platform, you must consider and incorporate LinkedIn live-streaming in your marketing strategy. It’s a great option for events, product launches, product promotion, etc.
LinkedIn will soon support video streaming via third-party tools which includes Restream, Wirecast and Socialive.

Additionally, LinkedIn also announced that it will bring back the option for company page admins to invite their first-degree connections to follow their page. One of the biggest pain points to build a brand is to increase the valuable and engaged followers. Invite-to-Follow option allows you to invite first-degree profile connections to follow your organization’s Page and grow your organization’s audience.

It seems like everyone will get access, though there are some qualifiers on its usage:

  • Only page admins with less than 500 connections are able to invite all their connections via a ‘Select all’ option. Those with more than 500 connections have to choose who they want to invite.
  • Only company pages with less than 100,000 followers can invite members to follow via this option.
  • Admins who have less than 3 connections won’t get this option available.
  • Only one invite per member can be sent.
  • Admins are only allowed to invite 50 new people in a day.

LinkedIn makes your job easy with another feature. Now share content from your company page via your personal LinkedIn profile with a new toggle option to choose which entity you’re posting from.

Make use of these new features to live stream to a large network. LinkedIn Live is a very promising platform that allows B2B marketers a new way to engage with a valuable audience.
